Pro Bono

At Gómez-Pinzón Zuleta we are conscious of the existence of a gap on access to justice in Colombia and recognize that lawyers have a privileged status due to our professional knowledge on how to access to judicial and administrative instances in order to protect our rights. As a consequence, our firm has a strong commitment with our community to use this privileged status in favor of vulnerable groups.

Since 2005 Gomez-Pinzon Zuleta has been the undisputed leader in the promotion of a pro bono culture as an essential part of the responsible exercise of our profession.

Among the pro bono projects we work on, the following are some of our main lines of action:

  • Legal support for NGOs (no governmental organizations) and public or private investigation centers that work on altruistic causes and public interest.
  • Legal assistance for low income population who can’t afford a lawyer.
  • Free legal education on empowerment of civil rights for vulnerable communities and public interest organizations.
  • Strategic litigation on public interest matters.
  • Investigations on matters aimed to cause a social impact on access to justice and the protection of human rights of vulnerable communities.
